Having just discovered the joys of organic farming in our own garden, I have to say potato soup is our favourite of the month. I found a website dedicated to potato soup recipes, which is quite amazing when you think about it. There's a website for everything nowadays it appears!

Hi, I´m Pam, interesting post. I am a first grade teacher in Orange county. Nowadays , most people wish to save cash on their electricity bills and one of the most common methods is through using solar energy. What can we, the ordinary people do to help save our World? The response may sound strong, but it’s very easy. Build your own solar panel.

hi mira,

i have not watched the movie, i have watched the trailers and i have seen the director debunking all those who gave a hint of criticism as being the arch enemy during an interview, something that gives me an immediate rash, whatever side on whatever issue

of course there is a potential for such a message, the question is : will it change anything on the matter?

no it will not

it is a very naive and extremely antropocentrical thought to even think that we can 'change' the climate by adapting ourselves to some ecopolitical agenda

i do agree that we need to be critical about our way of life and i would rather want to see people care more about poverty and pollution, or about people still dying by lack of medicine on this goddamn planet

or as i would like to put it : REAL problems that can be helped by IMMEDIATE and HUMAN action

but that would be too easy

we cannot tax the act of helping and giving

we cannot make money from trading poverty certificates

let's blame ourselves for something which nobody can grasp : climate, and then let's regulate the countries that are less developed than we are, in it's name, guaranteeing our advantage, and let's tax the crap out of our own citizens in the same name, all for the better of the future of course, which nobody will be able to check later on

i am sorry if i sound cynical to some, but i call myself rather a realist

as soon as a political class, who was deaf and blind to the same pleas ten years ago, jumps en masse on the bandwagon of climate, something in my mind went 'dingding', because political classes changing course midway is something to distrust to say the least

no, they have not seen the light, they have seen the opportunity : blame/fear and tax collection

let us say the church has walked that road for 1500 years with periods of tremendous success and riches

in conclusion :

yes there is a potential as there will always be willing ears, so the message will get spread

no it is not a unique point as it just uses the fear/blame issue that has been succesfully used for millenia on humanity in different forms

that is why disbelievers or critical people are already earmarked as heretics, it is becoming a 'belief' system

yes climate is changing, it always has and it always will

we should quit using it as an excuse for not doing anything about the real problems we can change

i would rather see a 'documetary' about that and it should be called 'the age of shame'

my best regards,
stefa

Hi Stefa,

I've had different feedback on the movie. Some like the concept, some don't. Maybe you are right it's not a documentary.

Have you watched the movie? Do you think there is a potential for such a message? Is it just another drop for the current eco-hype, or does it make a unique point that has not been made so far?

I'm curious on your thoughts.

All the best,

Mira

Hello,

how can you call this a documentary? This looks more like science-fiction, following a written script.

Predictions are what they are : predictions. Not facts.

Other predictions I have had in my life-time : the A-bomb, global cooling, acid rain, the hole in the ozone layer. All of which would mean the ending of the human race soon.

Nil novi sub sole.

Let's meet in 2055 and look back on the age of stupid, indeed.

Hi Stefanie,

You can't watch the movie online yet unfortunately (at least not that I'm aware of).
But there are screenings in cinemas all over the planet.
http://www.ageofstupid.net/how_can_i_see_it

Cheers,
